About Me
My name is Esmeralda Velasco. I enjoy school and love math. Throughout the school year of 2017, I had a computer tech support class. In that class I learned about the operating system of a Windows computer and the hardware. Later on I learned about security and different types of attacks like viruses, worms, trojan horse, DoS, Phishing ...etc. Later in the spring, my tech teacher encouraged me to apply for Nextech Catapult program for coding. I didn't know much about coding, but I was curious and wanted to learn about it so I decided to apply.
In June, I got accepted into Nextech as a Catapult Intern. Over the summer of 2017, I learned about coding. I realized that coding is so interesting. I was taught about Html, CSS, JavaScript, and jQuery. During the program we got to work on projects and got to take trips to businesses involved in the technology field. I have learned so much about different types of jobs in the tech field and have met so many people. I am very glad to have been in this program. It has expanded my knowledge of technology.
